Prayer is a vital part of the process in the creation of each of our projects at Music for the Soul. If you feel led to pray for us in the creation of these resources we would be most grateful. To learn more about becoming a Music for the Soul prayer partner visit our Prayer page.

Drink Deep

Sooner or later all of us experience the death of someone we love and its then that we find out that our fast-paced culture has little patience for the needs of the grieving. Learning to live with a loss that defies description and knowing that others have no idea how to support you in the long journey of grief becomes one of the supreme tasks of life.

The typical work place allows 3 days off from work. Your church may expect you to be "back to normal" in two weeks. Carving out a new normal is an excruciating task and everyone will do it in the way that is right for him or her. No cookie-cutter stages, no quick fixes.

It is the desire of Music for the Soul to enter into the journey with those who are grieving and be present with them in the darkest moments. Our proposed recording project, "Drink Deep: Doing the Difficult Work of Grieving," offers 14 songs that reflect the journey. We know that the experience of grief is like a spiral staircase with the need to return to the same emotional challenges again and again, each time with a new perspective. "Drink Deep" will be revisited for comfort and support over and over during the healing journey.

To fund the project we are offering the opportunity to make a gift in memory of a loved one. We will honor that person by:

  • Printing their name and including their photograph in the CD booklet of the final recording
  • Including their name with a photograph and written tribute if you so choose permanently displayed at our Music for the Soul website
  • Also, each donor will also receive two complimentary copies of the completed recording.

If you would like to help with the creation of, "Drink Deep", simply click the donation tab, follow the instructions, and type, Drink Deep, in the memo section. Or if you prefer, print the Drink Deep Memorial Gift Form below and send with your donation by mail to Music for the Soul, P.O. Box 159027, Nashville, TN 37215.

Gifts can be made in honor or in memory of family member or friend.

The Innocent Child Project

Perhaps nothing is as emotionally crippling and debilitating to a person as sexual abuse. This betrayal, especially when it happens at a young age, distorts intimacy, destroys trust, and leaves a deep open wound in the heart that, left untreated, negatively colors all areas of life.

The statistics on this issue are appalling. One in three women. One in six men. Perhaps then it is not surprising that Music for the Soul receives more requests for a project on this subject than on any other – at a rate of more than five to one.

Back in 1990, before Music for the Soul even existed I produced a cassette project based on an award winning book called “I Can’t Talk about It” for sexual abuse survivors. As a result I have many long standing relationships with those who have an expertise in this field as well as those who have personal experience with this issue. (read more at the “Our Journey” page)

The Innocent Child project will deal honestly with the difficult issues like betrayal, shame, self-loathing, anger, and un-forgiveness that are all part of the deep wounding involved with sexual abuse.

The goal will be to create a powerful and transformative journey that brings the listener into a personal experience of Christ’s healing, renewing love through songs and spoken words that are life-giving and hope-filled.

The CD portion of the project will include ten original songs, original poetry, and moving personal testimonies. The DVD portion of the project will include a beautiful music video of one of the songs on the CD and several on camera interviews with those who have come to a new place of freedom.

If you would like to make a donation to support the creation of the Innocent Child project you can do so by designating a gift at our donations page. Gifts can be made in honor or in memory of a loved one.
